Active participation
Position older adults as entrepreneurs, consumers, creators of knowledge and agents of change.

The Summit
Longevity is not a passing trend: it is one of the deepest economic, social and cultural transformations of the 21st century.
About the Summit
The first Silver Economy Summit brings together specialists, businesses, multilateral organisations, entrepreneurs and new generations to understand how longer lives are transforming markets, work, health, technology and our communities.
The beginning
At an entrepreneurship event in 2015, Luis Garza Hoth asked: “And what is there for older adults?” The absence of an answer became the starting point for Entrecanos.
Entrecanos began in 2017 as a community of practice for people who wanted to keep building after 50. The Summit extends that idea from the community into public conversation, and from Mexico to Latin America.
Our purpose
To position people aged 60 and over as active protagonists in Latin America’s economic and social present—not as beneficiaries of public policy, but as entrepreneurs, consumers, creators of knowledge and agents of change—and to build a shared regional narrative that moves beyond the idea of old age as a burden.
Position older adults as entrepreneurs, consumers, creators of knowledge and agents of change.
Build a shared language for Latin America that moves beyond old age as a burden.
Connect evidence, experience and decisions for businesses, governments, academia and civil society.
At the close of each edition, produce a diagnostic document with concrete proposals for each theme, serving as a reference for governments, companies, multilateral organisations and civil society in the region.
Why now
We live longer, but many business models, public policies and cultural narratives are still designed for a reality that no longer exists. The Summit exists to identify that gap and start closing it.
